What Strangely Drawn is

Strangely Drawn is an anonymous drawing app. Here’s the loop:

  1. You take or import a selfie and share it to a public pool.
  2. A stranger picks a selfie from that pool and draws that person on a canvas.
  3. The finished drawing is delivered back to you and appears in your “how you were drawn” feed.

Selfies and drawings are the heart of the app, and once they pass moderation they are public — other people can see them. There is no signup, no name, no email, and no profile. You are identified only by an anonymous ID on your device.

How to report content or block someone

We rely on you to help keep the pool safe. Every piece of public content has tools built in.

Report content

  1. Open the selfie or drawing you’re concerned about.
  2. Tap the ⋯ (more) button.
  3. Tap Report, choose a reason, and submit.

Reports are reviewed by a human. An automated safety filter also screens content before it ever appears publicly, but reporting catches what the filter misses.

Block an author

  1. Open a piece of content by the person you want to block.
  2. Tap the ⋯ (more) button.
  3. Tap Block this author.

Once you block someone, you won’t see their content and they won’t see yours.

How to delete your account and data

You can remove everything at any time, from inside the app.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Delete my account & data.
  3. Confirm.

This does two things:

Drawings you saved to the gallery on your device stay on your device — you can delete those yourself in the app anytime. Deletion of your account and server-side content is permanent and can’t be undone. Content that other people already saved or screenshotted outside the app is outside our control.

Common questions

Is my selfie public? Yes. Selfies are shared to a public pool so strangers can draw them. A selfie only becomes visible to others after it passes automated moderation. Don’t share a selfie you don’t want seen publicly.

Who can see my drawings? Any other user, once the drawing passes moderation. Drawings are meant to be shared back to the person who was drawn and shown publicly.

Where are my drawings stored? Finished drawings are saved in a local gallery on your device, and shared content lives on our backend so it can be delivered and displayed. Deleting your account removes the content on our backend; the drawings in your on-device gallery stay on your device until you delete them yourself.

How do I remove something I posted? Use Delete my account & data in Settings to remove everything. If you need a single item taken down, email or use the in-app Report button and tell us which item.

Do you collect my name, email, or track me? No. Sign-in is anonymous. We don’t collect your name or email, we don’t show ads, we don’t run third-party analytics, we don’t track you across other apps or sites, and we don’t sell your data.

Why does the app use the camera or photo library? Only to capture or import a selfie you choose to share or trace. Nothing is taken without your action.

Is there an age requirement? Strangely Drawn is not directed to children and is intended for users 13 and older.

Because selfies and drawings are public, please:

We screen content automatically before it appears and review reports by hand. We remove content and restrict accounts that break our Community Guidelines.
